By this point in 2019 the Mets were in free fall and the Astros were still the team to beam (beat). A lot has happened in the last 12 months!
While the executives at Major League Baseball drag their feet, the fans are left to ponder what a year without Baseball would look like. As a country we need to come to the realization that domestic travel will continue to be limited through the end of 2020 and stadiums will not have any fans. To ensure the safety of the players, coaches and fans an alternative is required.
Proposal: Teams report back to their home city once the state opens up. Each team will roster 50 players from all levels of the organization. The head coach will choose two captains who will draft 25 players each, to fill their assigned roster. The two teams will play 5 televised games a week in their home stadium (alternating home and away). To add to the experience each team will have special behind the scenes footage and events to grow the team and the players brand.
Benefits: This gives the fans what they want and provides a revenue stream for the league. As a fan not only can you watch your favorite players, but now you get to see the depth of the minor league system.
At the end of the day, life with some baseball is better than life without.
Stay Safe,
Matt
